DescriptionThe Department of Imaging Sciences of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is pleased to invite you to attend its 2nd Annual Women's Imaging 2008 Conference. This comprehensive four-day conference will be held February 3-6, 2008 at The Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio, Texas. This conference is designed to provide participants with an interactive and educational forum evolving around the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions unique to women. The conference is geared beyond radiologists and radiology technologists to include gynecologists and other physicians and healthcare professionals who are an integral part of the team providing healthcare to women. The program covers the imaging modalities of women's health including Ultrasound, Digital Mammography and MR. Topics such as Digital Mammography, Breast MR, Pelvic Pain, Gynecological Oncology, Legal and Economic Issues Related to Women's Health, Cardiovascular Disease, Management of Osteoporosis, Thyroid Disease, New Breast Imaging Technologies, Management of Breast Cancer and Transitioning to a Paperless and Film-less Environment will be presented. Women's Imaging 2008 will stress the use of diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms to optimize the use of diagnostic and therapeutic regimes. This course will provide the physician and technologist adequate didactic experience to use digital mammography and MR for breast imaging.
Participants will appreciate that providing women's heathcare is more than just breast imaging – it requires caring for the entire body not just one body part. Today, many women still rely on their gynecologists to provide their primary care needs. Women's Imaging 2008 will provide the basic information needed to address many of the diseases that afflict women of all ages.
