SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Many researchers have demonstrated an interest in learning more about rodent rederivation, cryopreservation and breeding colony services offered by outside vendors.  On Tuesday, May 27th from 1:00 – 3:00pm in room K307, a representative from Taconic (www.taconic.com) will provide information and answer questions.  All interested staff members are welcome to attend.

 

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to assure the humane care and well being of animals used in research and teaching at the University. We strive to promote quality science through responsible animal care and use.

The Animal Resource includes three functional components.

  1. Department of Comparative Medicine- is the academic program including graduate training, course offerings, and research initiatives.
  2. Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine- provides the veterinary care, specialized training, and services to researchers.
  3. Vivarium - provides all animal care and research specific services.
