Geriatrics Psychiatry Fellowship Training
Welcome From the Training Director

Welcome to our website! As you know, the societal need for geriatric psychiatrists is great and rising rapidly. Geriatric psychiatrists have the privilege of working with people suffering from debilitating yet treatable mental disorders, and the rewards of seeing our patients and their families benefit from our expertise. Our field as a whole is benefitting from an explosion of knowledge and skills development across the biopsychosocial spectrum, literally spanning the continuum from molecular genetics to community and national / international systems, and everything in between.
So this is an exciting time to pursue training in our subspecialty. And the University of Rochester is well connected to other leaders in our field, while continuing to make its own unique contributions in the quality of our geriatric educational programs, clinical work, and scholarly and research activities. We have offered subspecialty training in geriatric psychiatry for over 20 years! I feel fortunate to have trained here, and to be able to work with the many dedicated, talented, and caring colleagues we have throughout our program.
I invite you to look over the materials provided in our web pages. Please feel free to ask me any questions that arise! My colleagues and I welcome applications from all qualified candidates, and look forward to speaking with you and considering the possibility of your visiting us in Rochester to learn first-hand what we have to offer and how we can 'fit' with your career goals and aspirations. I wish you well in this process.
