Department Social Events

Departmental activities held for residents every year include:
- Annual Housestaff Jeopardy and Awards Ceremony. In the Grand Rounds setting, faculty and residents compete for the Jeopardy Winner title. A special awards ceremony follows.
- Fare-thee-Welcome Picnic. Spouses, significant others, and families welcome our interns and say goodbye to our graduates.
- R1 Bowling Night with the Primary Care Faculty. Primary care physicians take a night to welcome first-year residents.
- R1 Retreat. All first-year residents are excused from rotations for a day-long retreat held at beautiful Letchworth State Park, south of Rochester.
- Becoming an R2 Day. This is a day of learning and fun set aside for rising second-year residents.
- R2 Dinner. Second-year residents choose a place to have fun and reflect as they get ready for the final year of residency.
- Becoming an R3 Day. This is a day of learning and fun set aside for rising third-year residents.
- Resident Appreciation Day. A day where the program gives back to the residents.
- Chief Resident Roast. Residents and faculty regale (and roast) departing chief residents.
- R3 Graduation Dinner. Spouses, significant others, families, and faculty join in congratulating graduating third year residents at the Lodge at Wood Cliff.
- Annual Resident Fishing Derby. Held on beautiful Conesus Lake, residents, faculty and fellows enjoy a day of fun, fishing and food.
- Departmental Holiday Party. The name says it all. Fantastic!
