Application Process
Applications to the University of Rochester/Highland Hospital Family Medicine Residency
Program by allopathic and osteopathic medical candidates will be accepted
ONLY through the Association of American Medical College's (AAMC) Electronic
Residency Application Service (ERAS).

schools may apply for admission to our residency program with
these submission requirements:
- We sponsor only J-1 visas.
- You must have passed Parts I and II of the United States Medical
Licensing Examination (USMLE).
- You must be certified or eligible to be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign
Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
- After completing at least one (1) year of hands-on employment as a
physician in a US or Canadian health care facility, candidates must submit their applications through ERAS. Note: We do not accept externships or observerships, nor do we accept clerkships or internships for which the candidate has paid for the training.
- As a rule, we accept only those applicants who have graduated
from medical school in 2003 or later.
