Hematology/Oncology Fellowship

The University of Rochester offers an accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship designed to prepare physicians for academic careers as independent investigators. Fellows benefit from solid guidance offered by senior faculty who are accomplished and recognized nationally, both clinically and for research.

Our Strengths:

• Trainees have the ability to train in a center that exclusively services the region, allowing them to experience the full scope of Hematology/Oncology.
  
  
• Trainees maintain a close interaction with division faculty which are comprised of a substantial number of experts focusing on malignant and non malignant hematology, basic immunology, sickle cell disease, and bone marrow transplant.
  
  
• A high trainee to faculty ratio which provides individual and focused hands on guidance.
  
  
• Training is supported by a NIH T-32 Training Grant, a partnership between Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and the Wilmot Cancer Center, offering fellows the opportunity to train in a fully funded laboratory and with a variety of accomplished investigators as Craig A. Mullen, M.D., Ph.D., James Palis, M.D., Craig Jordan, Ph.D, Charles W. Francis, Ph.D. , Andrea Bottaro, Ph.D., Laura Calvi, M.D., Philip Fay, Ph.D., Jonathan Friedberg, M.D., Richard Phipps, Ph.D., and Mark Taubman, M.D.
  
  
• An educational experience that fosters the professional and personal development of each trainee. The Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, takes a personal interest and offers individual guidance to each fellow.
