Former Director of Surgical Pathology and former Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Dr. Bonfiglio is currently Director of Cytopathology at the URMC Labs. His primary clinical interests are in the areas of gynecologic surgical and cytopathology, fine needle aspiration cytology, and oncologic pathology.

Research Overview

Dr. Bonfiglio's research activity has focused on gynecologic and cytopathology, with a particular interest in the adaptation of new technologies to cytologic diagnosis. He has been involved in the development of automated screening devices and other imaging methods, and in the evaluation of new uses for fine needle aspirates.
