URMC Orthopaedics is the largest, most comprehensive orthopaedic practice in the region. Together with the Strong Rehabilitation Center, nearly forty board-certified or board-qualified doctors cover every subspecialty of orthopaedics and physical medicine and see patients from all over the Finger Lakes region and beyond. In addition to having their own clinical practices, our doctors are all academic faculty of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Rochester Medical Center. So, we don't just use the latest methods, we develop them. In fact, this department is currently ranked first in orthopaedic research nationally by the National Institutes of Health. That means your patients will be treated by people at the forefront of their respective fields, and will have access to leading edge techniques and technology – some of which are in the clinical trial stage and not available anywhere else. In many cases, a team of specialists will be assembled based on your patient's specific condition and prognosis. For patients whose condition requires it, world-class resources from other departments – such as oncology, geriatrics and rheumatology – can be accessed at any time. And every patient can take advantage of our complete support services that include physical therapy, orthotics and pain management.
