Rehabilitation Information
You may come to us when you’ve been newly diagnosed with a bone disorder or after you’ve already experienced a disabling fracture. No matter how severely your body has been affected, it’s critical that you receive the support you need to maintain or restore mobility, manage pain and minimize long-term effects.
Our bone health rehabilitation program may include the following:
- A fitness assessment
- A low impact exercise program of strength training, weight-bearing aerobic activity and flexibility exercise specifically designed for your bone structure and symptoms
- Methods for integrating your exercise plan into your daily life so you will be more likely to persevere
- Help in improving your posture
- Balance training
- Use of assistive devices to improve safety at home
- Pain control techniques
- Nutritional counseling to improve calcium and vitamin D intake and decrease caffeine and alcohol intake
