Highland Surgery
General Inpatient Unit, West 4
West 4 is a medical/surgical unit located on the fourth floor of Highland Hospital's west wing. We're a 35-bed unit, with private and semi-private rooms that accommodate patients who have had surgery.
Expert Care in a Community Setting
The Registered Professional Nurses (R.N.) on West 4 are recognized as clinical experts in the areas of pediatric surgical care, orthopedic surgical care, bariatric (weight loss) surgical care and care of patients with ostomies and extensive wounds. Each service has nursing experts to assist patients in achieving their best outcomes.
West 4 is committed to providing comprehensive care that is holistic, individualized, and based on a multidisciplinary team approach. We believe in enhancing the quality of life at every phase of illness through services that promote self-care, foster independence, and promote a sense of well-being within the abilities of each individual patient.
We have our own social workers who provide individual assistance and help coordinate home care after discharge from the hospital. Physical therapists work with the nurses and surgical staff to assess the physical limitations of a patient and develop a treatment plan to get the patient back to their normal activities as soon as possible.
