Pre-admission

Pre-Admission Tests

Contact the Highland Hospital Pre-Admission Testing Center at (585) 341-6707 to schedule your visit. We're open Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

Pre-admission testing should be completed at least 2 days, but not more than 30 days, before your scheduled surgery. Your appointment will take between 30 to 90 minutes.

Based on the type of procedure that you're having, tests may include:

  • Blood tests (phelbotomy)
  • EKG studies
  • Health history screening
  • Physical examination

In addition, the pre-admission office staff may also discuss other information with you related to your procedure, such as:

  • Pre-procedure instructions
  • Discharge planning
  • Coordination of services needed after discharge based on individual need (e.g., rehabilitation, home care, etc.)

What You Can Do to Prepare for Testing

If your doctor gives you a list of the tests you need to have or any forms, such as consent forms, bring them with you.

If you have a Living Will, a Health Care Proxy, or Power of Attorney for Health Care, and are scheduled to be admitted to the hospital after your procedure, bring a copy of these forms with you so we can add them to your medical record.
