For Nurses
I'd Still Be A Nurse Because...
I was focusing on the ST segment on the monitor as the radiologist was trying in vain to stop the hemorrhage, when the 82 year-old man spoke up. "Dear?"
"Yes?" I tentatively replied.
"Do you prefer brunettes or redheads?"
"Well, my husband is a redhead," I replied, so I guess I prefer redheads."
He did not respond for about another 10 minutes, and then suddenly he yelled out. "I have a redhead grandson for you to marry! He's a soccer coach and a good boy."
I thanked him, but pointed out that I was not only happily married but also 50 years old.
Again he did not respond for several minutes. Finally he said, "Well, I don't know. My wife took my glasses and my daughter has my hearing aid, but you seem like such an angel. I just wanted you to be in our family."
