Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, and it gives you the opportunity to help other people, something that can give you a lot of personal gratification and satisfaction. Volunteering at Highland Hospital offers a chance to meet new people while helping us create a hospital that is known for its excellent customer service... a hospital where caring comes first.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways you can help make a difference at Highland Hospital.
Volunteer to:
- Work at the main information desk or in the gift shop
- Help patients and families with directions and help transport them through the hospital
- Provide office support or volunteer to help in the mail room
- Assist in the Medical Records, Family Medicine, Oncology, or Pharmacy Departments
- Run errands or deliver flowers to patients
Volunteer Benefits
Volunteers are a vital part of Highland's patient care services and in addition to gaining valuable experience, possibly earning college credit and contributing to Highland's caring atmosphere, volunteers can receive dental unit discounts and educational programs discount.
Volunteers will also receive free parking and a free meal pass (if you work a 4-hour shift or more).

You can print these forms here, complete them, and bring them with you to your appointment. After your appointment you will be required to visit Employee Health for immunization screening. Finally, you will attend an orientation and be ready to start volunteering in approximately 2-3 weeks.
Exact hours for volunteer shifts may vary depending on specific assignments, but can start as early 7:00 a.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. Evening and weekend shifts are also available. We try to accommodate each volunteer's scheduling needs.
