Nursing

The Emergency Nursing at Strong Memorial Hospital is the areas only Adult and Pediatrics Level I Trauma center . Specialty areas include Trauma bay, West side, pediatrics, South side (fast track). Within the department there is a Boarding unit, and a 24 hour observation Unit.

We have about 75+ nurses and nurse practitioners that work within different specialties. The Emergency section was built in 2001 and has a capacity of 120+ patients and sees over 90,000 visits per year, Making this is one of the busiest Trauma center in the Northeast. All levels of nursing work together on day to day operation, and with such endless opportunities this makes it an very exciting place to work.

•  Adult Area. Patients ages 19 and older are seen and treated within the west side and trauma Bay depending on the severity of the injuries. Including all major traumas, motor vehicle accident and disasters with in the area.

•  Pediatric Area Patients 18 and under are seen and treatred with conjunction of different specialties.

•  South Area the fast track side of the emergency Department
