Mindful Practice Curriculum: Residents
Residents at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry will receive:
- An introductory module (180 minutes) for all residents (mixed groups) during the summer. Residents may choose to attend one of the 5 introduction modules:
- Wednesday, 7/18/07 at Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH); 10-1 PM
- Wednesday, 8/1/07 at Highland Hospital (HH); 10-1 PM
- Wednesday, 8/8/07 at SMH; 10-1 PM
- Thursday, 8/16/07 at HH; 9-12 PM
- Thursday, 8/23/07 at SMH; 10-1 PM
- Four departmental specific modules (~90 minutes)
Resident modules will incorporate the following themes:
- Module 1: Noticing
- Module 2: Witnessing suffering
- Module 3: Professionalism
- Module 4: How doctors think
- Module 5: Relationships
- Module 6: Self-care and burnout
- Module 7: Responding to errors
- Module 8: Loss and death (to be developed in 2008)
- Module 9: Balance (to be developed in 2008)
