Craniofacial Diagnostic Imaging

Panoramic Radiographs
panorex

The Seimens Orthophos panoramic x-ray unit provides clear images of both jaw structures with very little x-ray exposure to the patient. Clinical examination with a full mouth series and/or BWs alone does not always reveal all the pathology including impactions, cysts, and metastases.

The next three image are sections of panoramic radiographs taken on different patients. They demonstrate radiolucencies involving different areas of the oral cavity, which may need to be referred for further evaluation.

3rd molar benign tumor carotid artery

3rd molar compromising the angle of the mandible (Odontogenic Keratocyst).

Benign tumor (Osteoma).

Carotid artery calcifications at risk for stroke.

These anomalies are often missed by FMS and/or BWs but are routinely diagnosed with the addition of a panoramic survey. CDI also offers radiology reports.
