Application Process

Welcome to the Eastman Department of Dentistry's clinical postdoctoral programs. Thank you for your interest in the postdoctoral programs associated with Dentistry at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Applicants can choose from a number of options including:

  • Clinical programs
  • Graduate research programs
  • Combined clinical and research program that leads to an MS, MPH, or PhD graduate degree program

Acceptance in a training program does not guarantee acceptance into a degree-granting program.

Selected applicants may have an opportunity to interview at the Center for Oral Biology for the MS graduate program or the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine for the MPH program.

Application guidelines:

  • All applicants must hold a DDS, DMD. or the equivalent degree, prior to admissions to any of the postdoctoral programs.
  • Prospective candidates are invited to download an EDD application from this site or from the Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS)* site. Your material must be submitted according to the specific date mentioned in your program information letter. Late applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Applicants from countries other than the United States and Canada will be considered for admission as students in the Eastman Department of Dentistry's International Dental Postgraduate Programs (IDPP). They should have an outstanding academic record and plan a career in teaching and/or research.

*PASS applicants are asked to read the information on the program and complete the special PASS form. This service is available to all individuals applying to postdoctoral dental education programs participating in the application service. PASS simplifies the application process by providing on standardized format, relieving applicants of the need to complete multiple applications. Dental programs benefit by receiving uniform information on all applicants.
