Committee on Industry and Foundation Relations

With new paths being championed for accelerating clinical applications of biomedical research, correspondingly new paradigms for partnerships of academic health centers with industry and foundations are needed. The University of Rochester Medical Center has long enjoyed fruitful collaborations with industry and foundations. Medical Center scientists filed 92 patent applications FY05 and the Medical Center earned $38 million in royalty revenues. In that same year, Foundation grants provided $2.3 million in support for URMC research. The Committee on Industry and Foundation Relations will advise the CTSI on maximizing these collaborations and will also interface with the Upstate New York Translational Research Network. Committee members are being recruited now.
