K12 Mentored Career Development Program
The CTSI’s Mentored Career Development program offers generous support for new investigators interested in a career in clinical or translational research. The goal is for the trainee to emerge as an independently funded investigator at the completion of the award.
The program is targeted toward fellows transitioning to junior faculty. Awardees are chosen by an internal group of reviewers, on the basis of the candidate’s training environment, career development plans and project proposal. The award provides 3 to 5 years of career development support. Candidates and their mentors receive education and training support from the CTSI Mentor Development Core. They will take part in the Rochester Clinical and Translational Research Curriculum, as appropriate, given prior training.
The CTSI will solicit applications from interested fellows and faculty once each program year. The most recent RFA was released on October 26th, 2007 and the deadline to submit a letter of intent was November 30th, 2007. The full application packets are due on January 4th, 2008. If you have additional questions about the program please contact Nicole O'Dell at Nicole_ODell@urmc.rochester.edu.
