Rochester Clinical Research Curriculum

Program Description

The University of Rochester, its School of Medicine and Dentistry, School of Nursing, and the Eastman Dental Center, have a long tradition of excellence in the training of clinical researchers. The Rochester Clinical Research Curriculum (RCRC), has been designed specifically for physicians, doctorally prepared nurses, dentists, and Ph.D.s in clinically relevant disciplines. Development of this program is funded by a K30 grant award from the National Institutes of Health.

The RCRC is a didactic program of the theory and methods of clinical research integrated with instruction in practical research skills. At the culmination of the program, trainees will have a wide range of theoretical, methodological, and practical experiences in the conduct of clinical research enabling them to become the next generation of knowledgeable and productive clinical researchers.

The training program consists of coursework, clinical research skills workshops, seminars, field visits, and mentored research. Some additional courses will enable the trainee to earn a Master of Public Health in Clinical Investigation.
