Postdoctoral Training: Preventive Cardiology

Program Description

The postdoctoral training program in Preventive Cardiology is designed to train doctorally-trained clinicians (including persons with a Ph.D. in a health-related discipline) in the skills necessary for independent research in preventive cardiology. Fellows complete the MPH CI, participate in seminars, workshops, and a journal club for fellows, and conduct a mentored research project.

The training program is funded by the National Heart, Blood, and Lung Institute. The fellowship pays an annual stipend based on the individual's number of years of relevant experience or prior training. In addition, funds are available to cover tuition, travel, and research-related expenses. The length of the training program varies depending on the needs and prior training of each individual, but support is available for up to two years.

Application Process

Fellowship candidates must hold an M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree, and must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. We are seeking applicants with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Members of under-represented minority groups are encouraged to apply.
