Educational ProgramsThe Department offers a masters degree, Master of Public Health with either a Generalist track or a Clinical Investigation track, and two PhD degrees in Health Services Research and Policy and in Epidemiology. There are also postdoctoral programs in Health Services Research, Public Health Informatics and Preventive Cardiology. In addition the Department actively contributes to programs in the undergraduate (Health and Society) and MD curricula. The Department of Community and Preventive Medicine in its graduate education and research programs, emphasizes the epidemiology of disease and disability, the planning and evaluation of health services, and the development of interventions to prevent disease and disability. Our overall educational mission is to contribute to relevant University of Rochester programs at the baccalaureate, MPH, MD, PhD, and postdoctoral levels. Accreditation The MPH Program at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, which is an independent agency recognized by the US Department of Education to accredit schools of public health and certain public health programs offered in settings other than schools of public health.
