Division of Health Services Research and Policy

Faculty perform studies of the U.S. health care system, access to care and its quality and cost. Research projects address diverse issues including:

• Cost effectiveness of specific drugs, treatments and programs,
• Medical decision making
• Effects of managed care and competition on costs and quality
• Racial disparities in access to medical services of high quality
• Organizational and programmatic characteristics associated with superior performance, both in terms of costs and in terms of health outcomes
• Development of methods to measure health care quality, health related quality of life, and costs
• Care for the elderly
• Long term care
• Care for women and children
